ELECTIVE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF LIF 2025

This year’s General Assembly of the Lipizzan International Federation (LIF) took place at the renowned Lipizzaner stud farm in Piber, Austria, from September 3rd to 5th.
Our association was represented by President Aleksander Ozmec, Head of Expertise Klemen Turk, and Secretary Primož Tanko.

This year, the Lipizzan family was strengthened by the Czech Republic joining as a full member and Bosnia and Herzegovina as an observer country.

One of the highlights of the assembly was the election of the new LIF Executive Board for the next three-year term, which now consists of:

• President: Klemen Turk (SLO)
• Vice Presidents: Janez Rus (SLO) and Els Vanderispaillie (BEL)
• Secretary General: Nidal Korabi (CRO)
• Treasurer: Christian Manz (AT)

The newly elected board will continue to foster the preservation, promotion, and worldwide recognition of the Lipizzan breed.

Klemen Turk was elected in competition with the outgoing president, Dr. Max Dobretsberger from Austria. He is the third president from Slovenia in LIF’s 39-year history, following Mr. Franetič, then Director of the Lipica Stud Farm, and Mr. Verbič, then State Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture.
