Meeting of Equestrians from Three Countries
A beautiful annual event where equestrians from three neighboring countries come together
In celebration of Slovenia’s accession to the European Union on May 1st 2004, equestrians from Slovenia, Austria, and Italy traditionally gather on this day. The central event, the Meeting of Equestrians from Three Countries, takes place in a different host country each year. This year, the meeting was organized in Slovenia and was hosted by the Equestrian Club Špik. The gathering began with a nice welcome of equestrians from Italy and Austria at the Rateče border crossing, after which the equestrian procession set off towards Kranjska Gora and returned to Podkoren, where the procession was expected to arrive at the parking area under the World Cup ski slope. The event concluded with a tent gathering featuring live music, food, and drinks. On that day, turist visitors could witness a column of 68 horses accompanied by their riders and carriage drivers along the route. Our Lipizzaner Breeders Association was represented by the following members: Klemen Kolenc as the flag bearer, Rajko Sinjur from the Rogačeva’s farm with a pair of horses, and Janez Peternel from the Barbana farm with a pair of horses.
